Would You Rather Booktag!

Yoooo guys! I AM POSTING AGAIN, SECOND TIME THIS WEEK…..WHAT?! You all must be wondering how did this happen, but basically I have decided that October is going to be a good blogging month ok? I will post 3 times a week, read atleast 4 books AND post reviews on them all (woaah tell me to stop if this becomes too unrealistic) and also do 2 book discussion posts! AAAH ALL PLANNED OUT JUST HOPING THAT WORLD DOESN’T COLLAPSE ON MY FEET NOW.

Anyways, this tag is a mixture of two posts I saw over at Jessica Tuckerman’s blog and BookHuntressWorld. And they seemed really interesting so I was like, why not?

Jessica Tuckerman’s Tag:

Have an unlimited money for Ebooks, or a 5,000 dollar B&N giftcard?

Seriously? B&N giftcard obviously, duhh. I would rather read free e-books or $3 e-books but seriously not sending $5000 o e-books. That’s just not right.

Meet any deceased poet, or J.K. Rowling?

Deceased poet. Jane Austen. Deceased poet. Jane Austen.

Wait, deceased POET?!! Ugh I read it wrong! I thought deceased author. *rolls eyes* What the hell, I GOT SO EXCITED! No sorry, no favourite poet I’m going to go with deceased author and JANIIIEEEEEE ALL THE WAY!

Write the world’s most famous book, or visit the world of your favorite book for one day?

Write the world’s most famous book, obviously! With all the money that I would get, I will then create my own favourite fictional world! How about that, huh? Best of both worlds!

Choose ______ or ______ ? (Insert characters from your favorite fictional love triangle.)

Claire and Jaime from Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander!

Experience Hogwarts in a very realistic and accurate virtual reality, or travel around the world for a year, at no cost.

No questions on this one.

I’ve always been a stand-alone kinda person and only recently have I gotten into reading series, and that also so that I could have discussions with people LOL. So, I think a well-written, good stand-alone would do for me.

This is like asking whether you would have chocolate or cake for the rest of your life, but can’t have both. Like what the hell? Why is this even a question…?

There’s no Barnes & Noble or Amazon here in Pakistan but I recently ordered books from Book Outlet, so I think I’m gonna do more of that in the future. Apart from that, Liberty Bookstore is my favourite store!

If stand-alones, maybe movies but if it is a series, then TV shows.

Would love to read 5 books per week, but we all know my laziness and negligence in life is just too damn high, so that’s impossible to achieve. I think I will stick with 5 pages per day.

As of now, I would love to be a professional reviewer. But later in life, I will definitely look forward to becoming a professional author.

Why would I keep re-reading the same books? If I live upto 200 years, I definitely don’t want to be stuck with just 20 books.

Umm can bookseller be renamed to bookbuyer because I would definitely wanna be that!

The word “favourite” was invented so that it could be a list-topper in everything. Why would someone want to not do favourite?!

I prefer physical books, but I think I end up reading mostly e-books because they’re easier to read even when you’re just walking around or are in class. Lol.

So that’s it guys! Feel free to do this tag, whoever wants to. I’m posting from my phone, so can’t really tag anyone.

-Until then, Happy Reading!! xx

The Readers Problem Tag

Hello guys!

I know it’s been a long time since I’ve done a tag. And I saw this really interesting one, over at A Bookish Human’s blog. For once, where a tag is not asking about the books I’ve read, but about other reading-ish bookish stuff.

1. You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?

I don’t. Lol. Seriously, I’m the most indecisive person on Earth. I will either blog about my options and ask for help or just start reading my top 3 picks and see which one engages me the most. Image result for TBR lists quotes

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?

It depends how much I’m not loving it. If its Uglies (Scott Westerfeld) kinda boring, then i might just quit. But if people actually have been saying a lot of good stuff about it, then I might try and force myself to read it till the end.

3. The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?

Lol, I think I’ve always been behind my GR challenge. If towards the end I’m 2 books away, then yes I will def try catching up. But if I’m like 4-5 books away then I’ll just be like fuck it.

4. The covers of a series you love do. not. match. How do you cope?

Umm, hasn’t happened with me yet. So I can’t say

5. Every one and their mother loves a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?

Hmmm, I have yet to encounter that situation to see who I’ll turn to.

6. You’re reading a book and you are about to start crying in public. How do you deal?

HAHA I REALLY DON’T THINK THAT’S EVER GONNA HAPPEN. I’ve never cried on books or movies.

7. A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book? Skip the sequel? Try to find a synopsis on Goodreads? Cry in frustration?!?!?!?

Hahah I will read the summary of the book on Sparknotes or smth

8. You do not want anyone. ANYONE. borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people nope when they ask?

I’ll just go like “Uhh sorry, it’s a friend’s book so idk if I can give it to you..”

9. Reading ADD. You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?

I’ll read Weird Things People say In Bookshops by Jen Campbell. That always makes me laugh my ass off and then motivates me to read more. Idk it’s a crazy psychological thing with me.   ce3ec3804f5c229ab385df4dcaabe87f

10. There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read! How many do you actually buy?

Hmm, if I had an endless Bill-gates kinda supply of money, I would buy alllllll of the new releases and pretty book covers. But since that’s not the case, I would settle with getting atleast 5 books.

11. After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?

Haha, quite a long time I assure you. But if it’s a cover buy, I’ll most probably read it immediately.

Oh..this tag ended fast. Lol. I actually liked doing it!

Since I self-tagged myself in it, you guys are free to do so too. This is fun guys, try it out!

See ya later, readers  xx

How do you choose your books Tag!

Hey guys! Between all the moving back to dorm life, unpacking and boring flights, I made some time to do this tag. Thankyou @Abominable Bookgirl for tagging me in this! She has lots n lots of booktags on her page, so if you want to do them, go ahead!

So before I drift off to sleep, here are the questions:

Find a blue book on your shelves with a blue cover. What made you want to pick up this book?

13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson! It’s a book about travelling around Europe, so I had to pick it. Duh.

Think of a book you didn’t expect to enjoy, but did. Why did you read it in the first place?

Caraval. I had read the synopsis of his book when it first came out, but I was like nope, not my style. So it wasn’t even in my TBR. But then one night, I saw it online, and just decided to read it. Suddenly. And I read it all the way till 6 am because it was SO GOOD!

Stand in front of your bookshelf with your eyes closed and pick up a book at random. How did you discover this book?

Let it Snow. It was given to me by my friend’s sister. I still haven’t read it, and I don’t think I ever will.

Pick a book that you discovered through YouTube/book blogs. Did it live up to the hype?

I have discovered A Pleasure and A Calling on LillyCreads. But I’ve yet to read it. Lilly loved it and so did many others, so let’s see.

Find a book on your shelves with a one-word title. What drew you to this book?

Fallen by Lauren Kate. Nothing drew me, my flight got delayed at the airport and I had nothing else to do so I just bought it. I hate it btw.

What book did you discover through a film/TV adaptation?

Coraline!!! I still haven’t read the book, but I will because seriously the movie is amazing. Also, I love Neil Gaiman.

Think of your all-time favorite book/books. When did you read this/these and why did you pick it/them up in the first place?

Pride and Prejudice! I first read it waaayyyy back when I was 8 and I couldn’t get half of the stuff so I left it. I recently read it again because it was lying on my bookshelf for so long. I absolutely loved it!

I love different cover editions, so only imagine my delight (and your annoyance) when I insert different cover pictures of my ever favourite book!

Thaaaat’s it guys! Go ahead and do this if you want, I’m not tagging anyone because…uhh laziness and it’s 2 am so like no thanks. Just do it. Or not. Whatever.

-Happy Reading! Love xx

This is really the most unique idea of a booktag I have come across on ANY blog! Check out Leonie’s blog @ Lifehasafunnywayofsneakinguponyou for loads of funny tags and everything else. And duh, don’t forget to link back to her post. (and mine lol)

Here are the rules:

1. You can either take the word the person who tagged you used, or you can pick your own.

2. You must list all the books on your read list which include that word in either the title or the author.

3. Tag some friends and pass it on!

So Leonie gave me the word “Secret

Haha, honestly, I didn’t know there would be so many old books with “secret” popping out on my reading lists. I read these books back when i was 13 or younger, and it gives me major nostalgic feels writing about them! I think I should do a separate post for these books, what do you think?

  1. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

Image result for the secret garden

2. The Secret of the Shadow Ranch by Carolyn Keene (Nancy Drew#5)

Related image

Aaaaah my favourite ever series! Nancy Drew was my role model, man. Not only had i read the entire series, but I had re-read ALL 20 books. (or more, maybe? I don’t remember). I’m so gonna do a post on this and then maybe tell the very depressing story of how I lost this entire collection.

3. The Mystery of the Secret Room by Enid Blyton

Image result for the mystery of the secret room

The Naughtiest Girl Keeps a Secret by Enid Blyton

Image result for the naughtiest girl keeps a secret

SHIT. SHIT. THIS IS MY FAVOURITE SERIES EVER. LIKE EVER. Wait, did I say that about Nancy Drew?? No no, this was supposed to be my favvvvvv when I was 8, I guess.

I am literally dancing around with excitement because I miss this series so much!!!

Guess who the naughtiest girl was? ELIZABETH. And she was my favourite character ever. (I also love Elizabeth Bennet. I think I always had a thing for Lizzie’s) Oh also also, her friend was Julian and he was the ultimate loveable cute little monster. I think the picture of this Julian stuck so vividly in my mind, that whenever I read about a character named Julian, I always picture him as a school-boy. Lol.

Lisa’s Secret (PenPals#12) by Sharon Dennis Wyeth

Image result for lisa's secret pen pals series

There wasn’t a clear picture on google for Lisa’s secret, so I’ll just go with posting a picture of the entire collection. This series was a sort-of typical teen-growing-up-girly series. Boyfriends, crushes, back-stabbing bitches. Yupp, kinda trashy, I know. But it has such good memories linked with my school-days! But that’s a story for another…blogpost hopefully!

Aristotle and Dante discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty

So there goes my list of books with the word “secret” in them. I’m not tagging anyone, so anyone who feels like doing this, go ahead! I give you the word “Night

-Hope you guys enjoyed reading this! xx

Rapid Fire Booktag!

Aaah finally a booktag where I don’t have to spend time thinking and writing down my answers! I saw this tag over at Beth’s blog @Reading Every Night and I loved the idea of it! So I decided to give it a go toooo. I tried my best answering the questions as quick as possible! So here we go….

1. Ebook or Physical Book?

Physical Book, duh. Although I mostly read books.

2. Paperback or Hardback?

3. Online or In-Store Book Shopping?

4. Trilogies or Series?

Neither. I’ve actually realized I haven’t read a series since The Nancy Drew series in grade 7. (Yupp, haven’t read Harry Potter!)

5. Heroes or Villains?

Depends upon which one is the more mysterious broody type.

6. A Book You Want Everyone to Read?

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

7. Recommend an Underrated Book?

Heidi by Johanna Spyri.

8. The Last Book You Finished?

Made You Up by Francesca Zappia

9. The Last Book You Bought?

I never only buy 1 book. I bought 2 books: 13 Little Blue Envelopes and The Colour Purple.

10. Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?

I really don’t remember….oh yeah, my lipgloss!

11. Used Books: Yes or No?

12. Top Three Favourite Genres?

Classics, Historical Fiction and Fantasy.

13. Borrow or Buy?

14. Characters or Plot?

Both? No, plot. No no, both. Ugh!

15. Long or Short Books?

16. Long or Short Chapters?

Who cares as long as the story is good?

17. Name the First Three Books You Think of…

I’ll give you the Sun by Jandy Nelson

The Wish Granter by umm I dont remember (I had to be quick!)

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

18. Books that Make You Laugh or Cry?

That is the most difficult question. No book has made me cry (I will give credits to The Nightingale for making me sad for two entire days) and definitely not made me burst into laughter (The most fun I had, was reading the satirical humour in P&P)

19. Our World or Fictional Worlds?

Fictional worlds.

20. Audiobooks: Yes or No?

21. Do You Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?

Always. Always. Always. And hence, my regrets in life.

22. Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?

Book to TV adaptations.

23. A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?

I haven’t read Coraline by Neil Gaiman although I wished I had. But the movie was super-super amazing! And people say that the movie was ACTUALLY much better, so I’ll go with that.

24. Series or Standalones?

So that’s pretty much it, guys!! I did my best  to keep it to one-word answers but God knows my inability to do that. LOL. I tag everyone who wants to give this a try!
P.S Try timing yourself, it will be more fun. I did this in 2 mins lol

-Happy Reading! xx

The Sunshine Blogger Award!

Hey everyone!!

I am very excited to share my first blogger award in my very first month of blogging! I absolutely love asking people questions. All sorts of them. I have a diary with weird, fun questions in them which I’m frequently asking from my friends. I am so happy that I can finally do this on a much bigger platform here. Eeeeeep! Thanks to Issa @ The Abominable Book Girl for tagging me. Before I start answering the questions, here are a few rules:

• Thank the person who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
• Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
• Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
• List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Now without further ado, let’s dive into the questions!

1. What was the last book that made you angry?

Everything Everything, by Nicola Yoon. I really didn’t like the ending and was even more furious with all the hype going around about it. I honestly didn’t find anything special about it.

2. Who was the last author that made you laugh?

Umm, I don’t really remember. But I loved Jane Austen’s sarcastic jokes in Pride and Prejudice.

3. What character would you be besties with?

Does TV Shows characters count? If yes, then Rebekkah, from The Originals. If no, then Hermoine Granger!

4. Why do you like to read?

It gives me a chance to be at places I could otherwise not visit, be friends with people I could otherwise not meet and makes my mind open to new adventures and cultures! (does that sound cliche?)

5. How often do you blog?

I just started blogging, so lately I’m figuring out how WordPress works and all that. But I will definitely try to blog at least thrice a week (with University opening in a few days, that is the most I could manage.)

6. Who are your blogger besties?

Currently I don’t really know a lot of people but so far the WordPress community has been very encouraging! So I’m going to go with the bloggers I have commented on the most or who I feel like, I could relate to. Emmareadstoomuch (The fact that she loves ALICE and her reviews are simply too cool and fun to read!) AbominableBookGirl and ChocolatenWaffles.

7. Why did you begin book blogging?

I am a talker so naturally I have always felt the need to discuss my views during and after reading a book with someone who gets me! I also used to make little notes after completing a book and then I realised I could share my viewpoint with people around the world too!

8. Blogspot or wordpress?

WordPress! Never used Blogspot.

9. Which book do you wish you had read ust so you can boast that you read it?

The Godfather. I feel like its very intellectual and people would automatically think, “Oh this girl’s way too smart or brainy to read a book like that.” lol

10. What is your favorite romantic trope?

Where both the guy and the girl cannot admit their feelings and are always waiting for the other person to make a move first. (Mr.Darcy and Elizabeth sorta thing, lol)

11. What do you wish you saw less in YA books?

The protagonist stuck between her love for two boys at the same time. (Can the boys not be brothers or best friends, please?)

My 11 Questions:

(I’ve tried to come up with new questions, and tried steering away from bookish ones as much as my creativity allowed)

  1. Your favourite two books? (I’m sorry this is one question I ask EVERYONE!)
  2. What are the two things that are always found in your handbag?
  3. Why did you start blogging and how long has it been?
  4. Would you rather be completely invisible for a day or have the ability to fly for a day?
  5. What is the dumbest thing you’ve ever done that actually turned out pretty well?
  6. What is the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?
  7. What is something that you friends would consider “so you!”
  8. What other things do you enjoy, apart from reading?
  9. Which fictional couple do you root for?
  10. If you could have dinner with anyone in this world (should be living), who would it be?
  11. If you could kill any fictional character, who would it be?

People I tag:

Noriko @ Diary of a Bookfiend

Meggie @ ChocolatenWaffles.

Lashan and Trang @ Bookidote

Maya @ Fire-Breathing Dragon

Melissa Gibbs @ The Bookish Wanderer

Cayla @ Cayla’s Booktopia

James @ This Is My Truth Now

(I’ve only tagged 8 people because I’m still new and really don’t know a lot of bloggers out there. I’m really sorry.)

Those of you, who have done this or just don’t feel like doing it, it is totally alright! 🙂

Excited to read your answers! xx
